For any mom who’s ever taken her kiddos to a summer festival or amusement park, you surely know the heart-sinking-into-stomach feeling associated with the fear that you’ve lost your child.
Even if it’s only for a brief second, that stretch of time between staring into a sea of strangers and the moment you jerk your head around to spot your tot floundering around the cotton candy stand can seem like an excruciating eternity.
Well, the Clovis Police Department is all too familiar with this scenario and has recently posted a super simple how-to that can prevent that parental panic from killing your summer fun.
That’s right. Just two steps can stop that dreaded rush of anxiety in its tracks and assure you that your child is equipped with the info needed to get back to you safely.
And it all can be done with a pen, your cell phone and a little liquid Band-Aid…
Clovis shared the photo above along with these easy instructions:
“#TipOfTheDay—Taking your young child to a big event, theme park or other busy location? Write your phone number on their wrist and cover it with liquid band-aid in case you get separated. Also, take a photo of them using your cell phone the morning of the event so you have their clothing, hair style and up to date photo. #BePrepared
We posted this tip a few months ago and it was one of our most popular ever, so we decided to post again! Please #share this post with parents who have children.”
It’s never fun to anticipate the worst-case scenario, but being proactive can keep your children safe while keeping you at ease. Don’t let your fun in the sun be thwarted by the threat of losing your child. Be prepared and don’t forget to SHARE this important message with other parents you know!
