After Kayzen Raised $100K for a Waffle House Waiter, What Was He Able to Do With It?
As Kayzen said in his description on his fundraiser, ” We are now helping him get into a clean rental property and want to help him even more by raising funds so he has a reliable vehicle to drive his family and get to and from work.”
According to Garner, he was paying $60 each day for the motel, and he wanted to get a safe car so he didn’t have to walk to work. Gardner said the motel fee alone was “eating my pocket alive.”
With the money raised, Gardner did purchase a car, and he was able to pay for a safe and clean two-bedroom apartment for at least a whole year!
“I’m always counting my blessings, always thankful for anything that anybody gives me so it’s…it made me almost cry this morning,” Gardner said.
Gardner said with the extra money, he’s also looking into getting a minivan so the family will have a second vehicle to carry their whole family. With the support of the community, the family is able to get back on their feet.
And Kayzen says of the incredible response of the public, “Be the change you wish to see in the world, right?”
