As her mother, Lindsay, explains:
“Her condition prevents her from producing white blood cells that we use to fight off bacterial infections. Without this first line of defense Leah contracted this blood infection. After a lengthy stay at the hospital Leah beat the infection and was released to go home, but with a genetic condition that required daily injections and frequent trips to the hospital to keep her well.”
She’s spent the last 322 days in a hospital bed.
Since 2014, Leah has had two bone marrow transplants—one of the most excruciatingly painful procedures one could ever endure, and she’s spent far too many days in a hospital. But her spirit is one that cannot be broken.

This week, Lindsay posted a video of Leah on Facebook. Her daughter is sitting in her hospital bed, with her feeding tube taped to her face, and she is singing and dancing to Mandisa’s “Overcomer.” The adorably inspiring rendition of this Christian tune has since been viewed over 20 million times:

Leah has a 6-year-old sister, Natasha, and an 8-year-old brother, Elijah. The family has endured more than most people could imagine, but their faith in God is inspiring. They’ve set up a GoFundMe page for those who feel led to help them financially or prayerfully through this journey.
