Flight Attendant Tries to Kick Mom Off Flight for Holding Her Twins—Then a Stranger Steps Up to Do Her “Job”

From the colicky cries to the blood-curdling screams for attention, any mama can relate to the pain of catering to their infant in the public scene as strangers silently judge your parenting skills. As a mother traveling alone, it’s tough enough to care for one infant, much less two—twins at that!

No one can know that better than the mother who Mackenzie Murphy encountered on her flight last month. The bystander relayed the beautiful display of humanity that she witnessed as a kind stranger stepped up to help the woman who was about to get kicked off of the plane with her two babies.

“Well, yesterday’s supposed-to-be easy day of travel turned into an incredibly long day of travel home. This restored my faith in humanity,” Mackenzie opened in her post.

“Yesterday, this woman on my flight had twin babies, probably under 6 months, not so sure of the age. It was a very packed flight so they started taking carry on luggage to store under the plane. A gate worker took this woman’s car seat, meaning she would now have to hold both babies since they weren’t old enough to sit up on their own in a seat. When she sat down on the plane, a flight attendant immediately told her she couldn’t hold both babies, and would have to leave the flight.”

The mom was clearly distressed at the predicament she found herself in. Can you imagine boarding a plane with two infants in tow, just to be told you need to get off? She felt completely helpless and at a loss for what to do.

That’s when another mother who was traveling with her own daughter stepped in to save the day.

“A mother sitting in front of me, with permission from the other mother, volunteered to hold one of her babies for the entire flight,” wrote Mackenzie.
