“CAUGHT IN THE ACT”: Wife Busts Husband Trying to Hide from Her in Grocery Store Checkout for the Sweetest Reason Ever

Mikaa Wilkins knows that true love has no room for excuses.

Since marrying her husband, Cedric, in 2014, he’s continued to surprise his bride with small gestures of his love. One of his signature tokens is a dozen roses that he brings home to Mikaa every Friday after work.

Last week, he was “caught in the act,” and it made the gesture even more special for his sweet wife.

As Mikaa writes on Facebook, Cedric had a “special request for dinner.” So she stopped at the local grocery store to pick up the items.

“Today my husband was “CAUGHT IN THE ACT.” He had a special request for dinner, so I stopped in our nearest grocery…

But when she went to checkout, she noticed someone wearing a similar uniform to the one her husband wears. She didn’t think much of it, as that uniform is pretty common where they live, but then the person started acting strange.

“I saw this person weaving & bobbing as I was 2 people behind in line. His arm covering his face while stooped behind the register, I focused on the guy wondering ‘why’s this guy hiding?’”

 Facebook

Mikaa maneuvered to look the person in the eyes, only to realize, it was her husband!

“He was TRYING TO HIDE from me!! As if I didn’t already know his secret!!”

As their eyes locked, and bypassed the two people separating them in line, Mikaa and Cedric didn’t say a word to each other.

They just grinned from ear-to-ear and laughed under their breath.

Her husband paid for the flowers and left.

“The moral of the story is: After working a 12 hour shift on a hot Louisiana day he STILL found the energy to appreciate me. NO EXCUSES MADE!”

She closes by dropping some truth on both men and women about the small things that make or break a healthy and happy relationship.

“Men, it doesn’t take much to show a woman your love—most of us love small gestures. Women, don’t ever reject a man’s efforts. It doesn’t always have to be white linen tablecloths & candles.

Women: BE appreciative. Men: BE consistent… If he brought me a rock every Friday, I’m starting a rock collection. If he wants to sell ice cream, I’m scooping however he chooses to express his love, I’m accepting.”

Her call for action reflects what Paul writes to husbands and wives in the Bible:

“Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.” Ephesians 5:22

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” Ephesians 5:25

May we all appreciate the little things today, and strive to serve our spouses lovingly without excuses.
