Justin Bieber Sings Christian Worship Song to 98 Million on Instagram, Proclaiming God’s Love for Them

On Monday night, pop singer Justin Bieber awed fans with a soulful rendition of “Reckless Love” that he posted to his Instagram story.

Originally written by Bethel Music worship pastor Corey Asbury, the song’s lyrics preach of God’s vast, all-consuming love for his children.

“Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending reckless love of God,” Bieber sang. “Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the 99… There’s no shadow you won’t light up, mountain you won’t climb up, running after me.”

After it was shared with his Instagram following of over 98 million, the 24-year-old’s raw performance garnered praise from Christians across the web, who are excited to see a celeb use his stardom to shine the light of Jesus.

Since late 2015, Bieber has been trying to turn over a new leaf and leave behind his ‘bad boy’ past. Particularly since the release of his latest album Purpose, he has become more vocal about his faith as well as how he intends to share it on his pop-star platform.

As the singer stated in an earlier interview with Complex: “I just wanna honestly live like Jesus. Not be Jesus—I could never.”

For a while, Bieber admits that he lost sight of what was important and what his life was meant for, but now he says he wants his life to be exemplary of Christ — though he is sure to have missteps like the rest of us.

“Now I’ve found my purpose,” he shared. “Because I do have a platform, and there’s so much I can do for the world and use my music to bring that hope and light.”
