Autistic 6-Year-Old Brutally Beaten After Defending Friend— Mom Cries Out, ‘It’s Been Hell. Bullying Needs to Stop!’

One Olympia, Washington mother is taking a stand against bullying after her 6-year-old with autism was severely beaten for sticking up for his friend.

Carter English suffered a concussion, lacerated eye, broken arm, and fractured elbow among other injuries after he simply told a group of kids bullying his friend to “stop” outside of his apartment complex.

The children then turned on Carter, and he became the target of their bullying.

“They were just bullying him, like beating him up. I just told them to stop… and then they did it to me,” Carter told KOMO.

They beat him with sticks and rocks and rubbed sawdust in his eye, all of which landed the defenseless 6-year-old in the hospital.

Carter had to undergo surgery for the cut to his eyeball and is still recovering from his other injuries.

“It’s been hell,” said his mother, Dana English. “I haven’t slept. I haven’t eaten. I can’t do anything. I can’t even leave his side.”

Police investigating the case have concluded that the children are too young to be charged, as a 5-year-old allegedly initiated the attack, according to a report by Fox News. Authorities planned to get social services involved.

The brave 6-year-old may now have to endure more surgeries simply for standing up for what is right.

His heartbroken mother hopes that Carter’s tragic story may serve as a strong anti-bullying message.

“I really don’t know what I’m hoping for other than for people to know that this is not acceptable,” said Dana. “Bullying is not OK. There’s no reason to bully someone ever.”

According to a GoFundMe that was set up for the family, Carter is an intelligent, fun-loving boy who enjoys video games and spending time with family and friends.

Please join us in praying for Carter’s road to recovery and spreading the anti-bullying message that his sweet mother hopes the world will hear loud and clear.
