Tim Keller Asks for Continued Prayer for Pancreatic Cancer Battle, Provides Health Update

Pastor, theologian, apologist, author, husband, father, and grandfather Tim Keller shared an encouraging update about his pancreatic cancer battle on social media last week November 9, 2020.

‘The Reason for God’ author announced his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer in June of 2020, and he asked for prayers as he started treatments immediately.

Keller expressed his gratitude for those who have been praying for him, saying, “Thank you all so much for continuing to pray for me during my treatment for pancreatic cancer. God has been very gracious in answering those prayers…”

The former pastor shared that his doctor is “both surprised and delighted that I am able to tolerate the continued high level of chemotherapy with relatively few side effects.”

“All praise belongs to God…,” Keller wrote, expressing that what they asked people to pray for, God has been merciful in answering those prayers.

He also shared what his recent CT scans looked liked:

Thank you all so much for continuing to pray for me during my treatment for pancreatic cancer. God has been very gracious in answering those prayers, and my most recent CT scans on Monday showed more improvement. My doctor is both surprised and delighted that I am able to tolerate the continued high level of chemotherapy with relatively few side effects (they are there, but not as debilitating as they could be) as well as having such a strong therapeutic response.

Those, of course, are the two things we asked people to pray for! All praise belongs to God, who has been merciful and generous in caring for us both physically and spiritually.

Please continue to keep Tim, Kathy, and the rest of their family in prayers as they continue to trust God for healing and a full recovery from the treatments.
