‘Alcoholic Atheist’ Turned to Christ—Country Artist Walker Hayes Credits a Friend Named Craig

‘Be a Craig Fund’ Continues to Meet Practical Needs

Based on the incredible and generous gift from Hayes’ friend Craig, Be a Craig Fund helps others who are struggling.

When the Hayes’ family hit some of the hardest times of their lives, their minivan was repossessed. The family’s remaining sedan couldn’t fit the entire family of eight. “His kindness meant that the family would have a vehicle big enough for all of the Hayes children to have a seatbelt,” according to the organization’s website.

The fund challenges everyone to “be a Craig.” That is, generously giving to someone in need. People can submit a story of someone in need and request that their needs be met. The organization also has opportunities to purchase T-shirts or donate, with all proceeds going to meet the needs of others.
