“Allah Is Fine, Jesus Is Not”: Democrats Invite Muslim Prayer After Bashing Prayer to Jesus

Last Monday’s opening prayer delivered by freshman Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R) in front of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives stirred up major controversy across the nation.

The Christian lawmaker was accused by House Minority Whip Jordan Harris (D) of “weaponizing” the name of Jesus to “intimidate, demean and degrade” the Muslim being sworn into the legislature that same day.

“I, Jesus, am your ambassador here today standing here representing you,” said Borowicz in opening. “The King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Great I Am, the one who’s coming back again, the one who came, died and rose again on the third day, and I’m so privileged to stand here today, so thank you for this honor, Jesus.”

At approximately the 2-minute mark, Borowicz stated, “At the name of Jesus, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Jesus that you are Lord” — at which point, House Speaker Mike Turzai (R) cut her off.

Democrats were furious with Borowicz’s audacity to boldly pray in the name of Jesus, especially on the day that they were swearing in their first Muslim woman, Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell (D).

After she invoked the name of Jesus 13 times, they not only shut her down but also ridiculed her and demanded she apologize for her Islamaphobia.

House Democratic Leader Frank Dermody called the invocation “beneath the dignity of this House,” while Democratic Governor Tom Wolf said he was “horrified” by the prayer.

Johnson-Harrell also took great offense, telling the Pennsylvania Capital-Star that her colleague’s comments “blatantly represented the Islamophobia that exists among some leaders — leaders that are supposed to represent the people.”

Borowicz was recently invited to appear on “The Todd Starnes Radio Show” on Fox Nation where she elaborated on her reasoning behind the prayer as well as the double-standard held by Democrats when it comes to Christianity.
