They Asked Miss World How a Woman So “Gorgeous” Could Turn Down Sex—& Her Response is Perfect

From Tim Tebow to Russell Wilson and Ciara, it’s not uncommon for celebs saving sex for marriage to come under fire for their beliefs.

Even for those who spare the criticism, there’s still an itching question that scratches at their sexual human nature. How can someone SO BEAUTIFUL actually say “no” to sex?

In case you need a visual, how about a little side-by-side of some of these gorgeous people.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and assume that these modelesque superhumans of sorts certainly didn’t abstain because they lacked in opportunity or offers. With the kind of temptation that surely floods them daily, how do they do it?

Well, Miss World 2013, Megan Lynn Young, may just have the perfect, and most simple, answer to this question.

When the reigning Miss Philippines was asked how a woman “as gorgeous as yourself” could actually say “no” to sex, her answer was but three words: “You say no.”

“If they try to push you, you step away, because that person doesn’t value you, doesn’t value the relationship as much,” she elaborated. “If the guy is willing to sacrifice that, that means a lot.”

Megan explained that sex only belongs within the sanctity of marriage—and further, that marriage is made to last forever.

“Sex is for marriage. That’s my belief,” she said.

On the subject of divorce she stated, “I think that if you marry someone, that should be the person you are with forever, through sickness and health, through good or through bad.”

Something that is equally sacred to Young is the sanctity of human life.

“I’m pro-life, and if it means killing someone who’s already there, then I’m against that, of course,” said Young. “My beliefs are, no abortion.”

Though the former Miss World was well aware that her interview answers were going to make some people angry, she seemed to be undaunted, as her goal was not to please people but rather to remain firm in her own convictions.

What a powerful reminder for us all to be bold in our faith and stand strong in our beliefs despite the people-pleasing culture we live in. Living the Christian life in this chaotic world often seems incredibly complex, but sometimes the answer is just as simple as, “You say no.”
