Each year, Southland Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky, offers an amazing event for those who face lifelong mental or physical challenges. It's called Jesus Prom and it's one of the most amazing events I've seen a church host in a long time. Love it.

When we go shopping after school, I tell my son he has to leave his backpack in the car. When he wants to take a walk past dark with his friends, I tell him “no."
