Blind Man Sees Girlfriend for the 1st Time on Live TV—3 Minutes Later, She Finds Out Why She’s Really There

Imagine being in love with someone, but never having seen what they look like. One thing is for sure, their love is definitely from the heart, but it would be incredible if they could also see the beautiful person their heart desires.

The Rachael Ray Show has been notorious for helping people with impaired vision, specifically Stargardt’s disease, see their loved ones for the first time.

With the help of Toronto company eSight, the talk show has given the gift of vision to a handful of people who have not been able to see correctly since a young age. With each sight-reveal that the show does, the stories and reactions just get better and better.

Brittany Reed was watching the Rachael Ray show one day when she saw a young married couple anticipating the moment they would see each other for the first time. The man suffered from Stargardt’s disease—a degenerative eye condition that makes those who have it almost completely blind. They are able to see only a blurred version of their peripherals. He put on a special pair of glasses and was able to see his wife and son for the very first time!

Shocked that someone else suffered from the same condition as her boyfriend, Hunter Tribe, and feeling hopeful that there is a revolutionary technology to combat the disease, Brittney wrote a letter to the show.

Having dated Hunter for two years, Brittney knew what an incredible experience it would be for him to see her for the first time. He hasn’t been able to see for over 17 years.

The show agreed to have the couple from Erath, Louisiana. They provided the eSight glasses, and everything was perfect. Hunter was at a loss for words seeing the people in the audience, and his beautiful girlfriend for the very first time.

After a long pause, just three little words summed up the look of awe on Hunter’s face: “She looks amazing.”

“She’s gorgeous,” he added as he gazed lovingly into Brittney’s eyes.

Rachael Ray told the couple that Hunter would be keeping the $15,000 eSight glasses, which was emotional to say the least.

Of course, the surprises didn’t stop there.

After coming back from a commercial break, Hunter says he’s starting to “get the hang of it—using my eyes.” He continues, “There’s only one thing that could make this better… If Brittney becomes my wife.”

Hunter drops to his knee and Brittney said Yes!!!

Then, just because two life-changing surprises weren’t enough, Hunter tells Brittney that they’re getting married in a week, and the Rachael Ray show is doing all of the planning and then throwing them a wedding!
