Friend Says “Of All People, You Should Get Why Someone Would Abort a Cleft Baby”—Dad’s Reply Is Perfect

"My ‘friend’ said, ‘Come on, of all people, you should get why someone would want to abort a cleft baby.’ That shocked me. Why would he think that?"

During a Kitchen Dance Party, Foster Mom Hears Heartfelt Words: ‘I Miss My Other Daddy’

"I felt the tug on my sleeve and looked down to find him standing motionless. His mouth was moving but I couldn’t make out his words. His quiet body in the noisy room caught me off guard. I bent down to find his voice."

Boy Holds Back Tears as He Waits Alone for Dad at Football Game—Then Another Kid Notices And Does Something Remarkable

If we watch closely, sometimes kids have bigger lessons to teach us about compassion and kindness than adults. And one viral Facebook post shared by Chelsea Burke is spreading that message like wildfire.

It’s easy to feel alone in this big world, especially when you’re a little kid who’s away from mommy and daddy.

Sometimes all we need is somebody to put their arm around us and tell us everything is going to be okay.

When one little boy noticed that another kid waiting for his dad at a football game was choking back tears, he quickly pulled him down next to him and did just that.

The heartwarming moment captured on camera is certainly a sight to brighten your day in a media world that shows the worst of people and racial divisiveness.

“It was so refreshing to see the innocence and sweet compassion that we’re able to instill in our children if we try hard enough to raise them the right way,” writes Chelsea. “This world needs a lot more love in it and our kids are just the beginning.”

AMEN to that!

“Marcus won tickets from the USO to the Hawks game tonight. There was a junior football team sitting in front of us and they were so excited to be there and you could tell their hearts belonged to football. One little boy made his way up with one of the Centurylink staff and was upset that his dad wasn’t there yet and started making his way down the row of kids, holding back tears. The little boy in the black jersey looked up and noticed him and instantly pulled him down beside him and put his arm around him, making sure he was ok and watched the beginning of the game with him, explaining things and answering questions. You’re so used to seeing the worst of people plastered everywhere that it was so refreshing to see the innocence and sweet compassion that we’re able to instill in our children if we try hard enough to raise them the right way. This world needs a lot more love in it and our kids are just the beginning.

***EDITED TO ADD: The little boys father did not abandon him, or leave him with strangers. Both little boys are apart of the Benson Bruins football team that was seated in front of us and they all came to the game together (I saw a video the football team had posted on fb on their way to the game and the little boy in grey was on the bus as well). His dad just hadn’t made it up to the stands yet, as there were at least 60 kids/adults there, including the football team and they were prepping to play during halftime when this moment was captured.***

May this sweet little boy’s act of pure compassion teach us that a little kindness goes a long way, no matter who the recipient.
