After months of preparation and anticipation, two U.S. service members tied the knot in a wedding ceremony on Saturday in Presque Isle, Pennsylvania.
Emily Leehan, a senior airman in the Air Force, and Marine Sgt. Joshua Newville stood across from each other at the altar where they would be joined together in holy matrimony.
But before they were announced “husband and wife,” the two shared some very special vows with the groom’s 4-year-old son, Gage.
“I want you to be safe, and try your hardest, and to be a good person,” Emily began.
Before the words even came from her mouth, Gage broke out into tears!

Sobbing, he grabbed his soon-to-be stepmom’s waist and hugged her tight as she continued to read the vows to her favorite little boy.
“I may not have given you the gift of life, but life surely gave me the gift of you.”
After Emily finished her emotional speech, she and Gage shared a hug and kiss before he turned back to his father and continued to cry tears of joy!
“When she started reciting the vows, that’s when the emotion took over and he lost it,” Joshua told ABC News. “The whole day was pretty emotional, so I was just trying to keep myself together and keep him together.”
Following the ceremony, family and friends showered Gage in praise, telling him how special his reaction and love for Emily made the moment.
It just goes to show, some of the most perfect moments of the wedding day aren’t those that are planned or anticipated, but rather, the ones that are genuine, raw and unmistakably beautiful.
Congratulations, Emily and Joshua!
