It seems we can no longer go a week without hearing about some school shooting, sex scandal, or bullying case that led to suicide. Add in racial and political wars, and we’re really in for a treat when we look at the daily news.
But one mom, Amy Weatherly, is completely fed up with all of it, as she expressed in a viral Facebook post entitled “I Can’t Take it Anymore.”
In the post, Amy charges that the problems in our society need to be attacked at their root: at home.
Individually, we can make a collective difference.
“It starts with you and with me and with the conversations we have with our kids at bedtime,” she writes, after admitting she doesn’t know all of the answers.
But what she does know is this:
“I do know it starts with us being kind to our neighbors. I do know it starts with us doing a better job of keeping our mouths shut and our ears open. I do know it starts with us taking a stand for what we believe in, and making the time to sit down with our families at the kitchen table.”
