Married Man Tells Cashier to Give the “Cute” Girl Behind Him His Number—Then She Realizes It’s NO Coincidence

Working in the fast-food industry, there’s no telling what or who you’ll see coming through the drive-thru.

Most of the time it’s people using the most convenient method of getting food fast, without having to lug five kids into the restaurant, stand in line and attempt to keep them from running for the play place. (Can I get an amen somebody?)

Though designed for convenience, the drive-thru has also become a place where beautiful things happen.

While working her shift at the window on Friday night, Amari Carter got to experience this firsthand.

“So I’m at work tonight, and this man comes through the drive thru and he goes, ‘Can I pay for the car behind me?’” Amari shared in a post on her Facebook page.

She said sure and gave the customer the woman’s total.

“He goes, ‘Truth be told she’s kinda cute,’” Amari continues, saying his remark made her laugh.

“He then gives me the money to pay for her ice cream and then he goes, ‘Can you do me one more favor?’ Again I said, ‘Sure, what is it?’ He says, ‘Can you give her my number?’ I thought he was kidding, so i chuckled. Then he hands me a tiny piece of paper with his name and number written on it. Tells me to have a nice night and drives off.”

The woman in line behind him pulls up to the window, expecting to pay for her ice cream. Amari explains to her that the customer in front of her paid for order, so the woman smiled and decided to pay for the person behind her.

“Then as I hand her her ice cream, she’s about to drive away and I say, ‘Oh and he said that you were cute,’ and I hand her the piece of paper with the name and number on it. She stares at me, laughs and then goes, ‘Oh my gosh, well yeah, he’s my husband.’”

Amari was touched by the couple’s fun love, and inspired by their relationship. She says not only did they warm her heart and put a smile on her face, but they started a “pass it on” chain that continued with drive-thru customers for more than five minutes after the couple left.

Her experience is a sweet reminder to never take life too seriously, and to pay it forward every chance you get!

Generosity is contagious. My hope is that this story brought a smile to your face today, and inspires you to start your own “pass it on” chain.
