Hillsong United Just Sang “Oceans” on The Sea of Galilee & It’s Surreal Beyond Words

Since its original release in 2013, Hillsong’s hit worship song “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” has changed hearts across the globe with its hopeful message and soothing melody. But there’s nothing quite like seeing it performed on a boat on the Sea of Galilee, the ocean in the Bible that the song was written about.

The Australian worship band recently embarked on a journey to the Holy Land as part of their project “Of Dirt and Grace—Live From the Land.” The group wanted to do a visual representation of their songs from their EMPIRES record in order to take people deeper in their worship experience.

“We wanted to do something really special and show the songs in a different light—we recorded the songs live and on location in some of the most beautiful places we have been—it was surreal being in the places Jesus ministered,” said Joel Houston. “We hope people feel a little of what we experienced.”
