“I Identify Myself as a Child of God”: ‘Black Panther’ Star Letitia Wright Delivers God-Inspired Awards Speech

Actress Letitia Wright, one of the stars of the 2018 blockbuster hit “Black Panther”, gave a compelling, faith-filled speech last night after receiving the “Rising Star” award at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA).

“I identify myself as a child of God, and I can’t get up here without thanking God,” Letitia humbly declared upon taking the stage.

Wright then proceeded to get vulnerable with the audience in sharing about her struggle with depression that had her ready to give up on acting.

“A few years ago, I saw myself in a deep state of depression and I literally wanted to quit acting,” said the young actress. “The only thing that pulled me out of it was God, my belief, my faith and my family, and an email from BAFTA asking me to become part of the BAFTA Breakthrough Brits.”
