A Shocking Prank From the Grave: Dead Irish Man Pranks Funeral-Goers, “Let Me Out!”

Shay Bradley was always a jokester, but his family didn’t expect him to be calling out to them from the grave. Find out more about how this Irish man pranks his family and friends using a pre-recorded message.

How the Irish Man Pranks His Family From the Grave

Bradley’s family describes him as a fun-loving man who was always wanting to make people laugh…even after he had died at the age of 62 in Kilmanagh, Ireland.

Chloe Kiernan, Bradley’s granddaughter shared to The Independent in an interview that “All he ever wanted was to make people laugh and smile, and that’s exactly what he got.”

A year before his passing, Bradley had become ill and because he knew this illness was significant enough that it could take him soon, he conspired with one of his sons, Jonathan, to prepare for his funeral. Without his son, the Irish man pranks could not be carried out, and thankfully to Bradley, his son agreed to help him record a message that would be played after his casket was lowered into the ground.

In his message, he began with knocking sounds and screamed, “Let me out!”

The message went on for about a minute, with fearful and sometimes vulgar shouts from Bradley, as well as more knocking sounds. He yells how dark it is and says, “I’m in the box!”

He finished his message by singing, “I just called to say goodbye,” some of the lyrics from Larry Boone’s country song.

Watch the Irish man pranks here:

The message was played on speakers near the gravesite. Knowing Bradley, a veteran of the Irish Defense Force and his desire to leave people with a laugh, his family and friends in the view appear to be laughing and appreciating hearing his voice one more time. His obituary notes that he was a husband of Anne, and a “dear father of Jonathan, Susanne, James and Andrea.” He had eight grandchildren at the time of his passing, brothers, in laws, and other extended family members.

The family aren’t the only one to experience the Irish man pranks, though. The video on Facebook has millions of views on his daughter, Andrea’s post of the video alone. And even more than 355,000 views and more than tens of thousands of comments on copies of the video posted by news outlets, such as the Irish Daily Mirror.

One commenter said, “Only way to do it brilliant to make your loved ones laugh at your funeral that’s beautiful must of been a wonderful man.”

Another commenter said, “So funny he must have been so character he certainly put a smile on their faces he’s a legend.”

At the time of his passing, Bradley’s family celebrated his life in many ways…
