Joey Feek has been praying to make it to 3 major milestones since she entered hospice in November. Her terminal cervical cancer has continued to drain her strength but certainly not her will to live.
First, Joey made it to her Christmas miracle; secondly, she made it to celebrate a special Valentine’s Day with her hubby; AND last but not least, she just made it to her daughter Indiana’s birthday TODAY!!
Amidst a new album release and a Grammy nomination this week, the Feeks have had lots going on recently—but nothing could mean more to Joey than making it to her daughter’s 2nd birthday.
It was a day that she didn’t think she’d live to see, but once again, God proved to be faithful after months and months of prayer.
“Joey’s hope never fades. No amount of pain or medicine can touch it,” Rory shared in a November blog post. “It runs too deep. It’s connected to her faith in God. And as she will tell you, God can do anything,” he added.
In an Instagram post featuring Joey celebrating in laughter with Indiana, Rory wrote, “…some birthdays are more than just birthdays. They’re dreams coming true and prayers being answered.”
They also shared an adorable video of Indiana giving herself a little morning birthday pump-up. So precious!!
…barely awake and already signing and celebrating her big day. A video posted by Joey+Rory (@roryandjoey) on
“We will do our best to make it the very special day that it is,” Rory wrote on their blog, This Life I Live. “Our plan is to put streamers up around Joey’s bed and move Indiana’s high-chair in beside her, so Joey can be part of it. So she can watch our little one eat her cupcake and rip the wrapping paper off her gifts. But Joey is very fragile right now, and so with all of these plans we have, we will need to adjust for what my wife needs.”
We’re SO very excited for Joey to be able to celebrate this very special day with her daughter!! SHARE this story with your friends to spread the Good news that our God is so very faithful, even when death is staring us in the face.
HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY, INDIANA!! 🙂
