Country singer Joey Feek is now in the presence of the Lord and her suffering on this earth is over.

She passed away Friday, March 4, at 2:30 in the afternoon. Her family was all by her side, holding hands and praying as she took her final breath.

It’s with a broken hearts we share the news. We’ve covered her story on Faithit over the past year and we feel like she’s a close friend. We’ve shared her ‘last’ dance with her husband, her beautiful praise in the midst of suffering, and many milestones along the journey. We’ve all been inspired by her deep faith in Jesus and her courage and grace in the presence of pain and loss.

On their website ThisLifeILive.com her husband Rory writes, “My wife’s greatest dream came true today. She is in Heaven. The cancer is gone, the pain has ceased and all her tears are dry.”

Rory also shared a very special video (below) made by Dolly Parton, specifically for Joey. Rory says that watching it alongside Joey was one of the most beautiful moments he’s ever been a part of.

“When a person has been through as much pain and struggle as Joey’s been through, you just want it to be over. You want them to not have to hurt anymore, more that you want them to stay with you,” Rory writes.

The family has been together in Indiana for the last four-and-a-half months, but they will soon return to their home in Tennessee. “It’s hard for me to imagine being there without Joey, but at the same time… it is where she wants us to be,” Rory writes.

We’re incredibly thankful for Joey’s music, her faith and the lessons she taught us all about making our days count here on this earth. She will be greatly missed.

Please join us in praying for the family.
