Justin Bieber’s New Face Tat Looks Like a Tear Drop, but Here’s Why It Got 1.5 Million Likes in 1 Day

Justin Bieber’s newest ink addition may be super small, but the meaning behind it is pretty darn powerful. The singer posted an Instagram picture featuring his latest tattoo yesterday that received a whopping 1.5 million likes and 40,000 comments in under 24 hours.

After he posted the picture below, fans across the world were questioning what the tiny black mark on his eye was. Upon closer examination, what appears to be a teardrop shape is actually a cross.

Bieber originally stated that he wouldn’t get a face tattoo until he was much older, but it seems the ink-loving pop star just couldn’t wait.

“Maybe when I’m really old, not super old, but maybe, like, 40s or 50s or something,” he told GQ earlier this year. “One above my eyebrow or something small.”

Bieber’s tattoo artist from New York recently opened up about the meaning behind the tattoo. Jonboy told US Weekly, “Justin came in last night and decided on a small cross near the corner of his eye. It represents his journey in finding purpose with God.”

The singer has been increasingly open about his faith in recent months and has mentioned that he aims to start using his platform for a higher power.

“I just wanna honestly live like Jesus,” he said in an interview with Complex. “Not be Jesus—I could never—I don’t want that to come across weird. He created a pretty awesome template of how to love people and how to be gracious and kind. If you believe it, he died for our sins.”
