20 Things My Divorce Taught Me About Marriage

Years ago, a newly divorced Gerald Rogers took to Facebook to reflect on what he wishes he would have known before it was too late. 3 Neighbors Ignore Little Boy After He Misses School Bus—Then This Guy Takes Matters Into His Own Hands

It’s not every day that you wake up to a neighbor kid banging on the door asking for a ride to school.

But for Brian Smith, that day came just last week.

Facebook

School was back in session, and a loud knock on the door woke Brian from his sleep. He answered the door to find a “lil homie” standing on his front porch. Brian says he’d never seen the kid before, but he told Brian that he’d missed the bus and needed a ride to school.

The boy had knocked on THREE other doors before Brian’s, but still hadn’t managed to find a ride.

Before he could say anything more, Brian grabbed his keys, slipped on some shoes and bolted out the door to race the neighbor kid to school.

“Didn’t even brush my teeth,” he writes. “Go get that education young brotha.”

Brian posted a photo online and said that this is what “big homies” do for young ones.

Facebook

His Facebook post has warranted over 133,000 shares across the Internet, and praise for both his selflessness and the young boy’s determination to get to class!

They say it takes a village. I think we can confidently say Brian is a great contribution to his.
