While it’s basic parental instinct to come to the defense of your children, most level-headed humans with any trace of a soul would agree that rape pretty much disqualifies any justification for their actions. However, that’s exactly how convicted rapist Brock Turner’s father responded to his son’s crime in the letter he penned to the judge.
Dan Turner’s appalling defense of his son after he raped an unconscious young woman behind a dumpster at Stanford has the Internet on FIRE. While the rest of the nation is disgusted that Brock received a light six-month sentence, his father feels it is a “steep price to pay for 20 minutes of action out of his 20-plus years of life.”
Well, one new Twitter user decided to correct Dan’s letter in what is to date her one and only tweet. It’s so crazy powerful that even if this remains the only Internet contribution she ever makes, all will be right with the Twitterverse.
@AlexandraOzeri is officially an Internet hero for calling out rape culture for what it is without the sugar-coated euphemisms. I could go on, but this perfect reality-check “edit” pretty much sums it up:
Alexandra tweeted this screenshot of her revised version along with the caption, “Here, I fixed his letter (changes in bold)…”
