Oregon Dad Accused of Drugging 12-Year-Old Girls at Daughter’s Sleepover

After the girls spent a while longer talking and watching TV, they went to bed around midnight “at the continuous prompts by Mr. Meyden,” says the court document.

Meyden Repeatedly Visits the Basement

The girl who remained conscious told investigators that once the girls were “asleep,” she saw Meyden come downstairs. As she pretended to be asleep on the pullout couch, she says he removed her arm, which was draped over her friend, and moved the friend to the other side of the bed.

In a second trip downstairs, the same girl said “she saw Mr. Meyden in the dim light place his finger underneath her nose, as if to see if she was soundly asleep, he then waved his hand in front of her face.” The girl continued to pretend to sleep.

When he left again, the girl frantically texted her mom and anyone else who might be able to rescue her.

“Mom please pick me up and say had family emergency. don’t feel safe. might not respond but please come get me (crying emoji), Please. Please pick up. Please. PLEASE!”

She also texted several friends asking for a ride after Meyden came downstairs for a third time and stood near the bed for approximately 15 minutes. The girl said “she could feel him watching her.”

When she received the text that her friend was outside, she says Meyden had entered the bathroom which led to the bedroom where the other girls were asleep.

The girl ran into Meyden on her way out to the friend who was picking her up and told him she had to leave for a family emergency.

Once she arrived at home, the girl woke up her parents, who called the parents of the other girls. Around 3 a.m. the other girls were picked up. Meyden was “evasive” and told them to come back in the morning, but the parents persisted.

Police Interview the Three Girls

The next morning, all three girls were at Randall Children’s Hospital when police interviewed them.

One of the girls, according to the court documents, was interviewed 12 hours after she drank the smoothie.

Investigators said she “walked slowly and used the assistance of her mother for balance, her eyelids were heavy, and she spoke slowly.”

According to the documents, the girl said she “recalled starting to feel woozy, hot and clumsy shortly after drinking the second smoothie … and recalled telling scary stories then going to stand up and ‘tipping over,'”

Her parents said she was scared and dizzy when she returned home. She kept asking them, “What happened?” And that’s when her parents decided to take her to the hospital, where she tested positive for the benzodiazepines.
