It’s no secret that society today is not kind to women. Young girls growing up these days have the pressure of “perfection” force-fed to them in the palms of their hands, and very little support to combat it.
The pressures start young, and the lasting effects of negative self-talk and lack of self-confidence follow women throughout their lives. It’s a vicious cycle—and one that’s difficult to break.
The Parent-Teacher Organization at Freedom Trail Elementary School in Lewis Center, Ohio, has set out to change that.
A group of women raided the school’s girls’ bathrooms and left behind a mess of encouragement for every young woman who enters.

The idea was proposed by “Mrs. Scott,” who planned and executed the whole operation. It’s inspiring others to do the same.

Back in April, a high school student in California also had the idea to remove all of the mirrors from the girls’ bathrooms and replace them with positive words of affirmation.

We can’t change what the world tells us or shows us to be “beautiful.” But we can work together to combat the lies of the enemy and lift each other up.
Every woman is worth more than rubies. Isn’t it time we started feeling that way?
All the praise to this PTO and Freedom Trail Elementary for feeding our girls truth in a world that aims to do the opposite.
