Mom Was Too Busy to See His Play—Then She Sees What He Wrote in His Journal

As stated by Benjamin Franklin, “Lost time is never found again.”

Time is our most precious commodity, yet it so easily disappears into the abyss of the busy work that is life. Between the cooking, dishes, laundry and all the other daily drudgery that often steals the joy of motherhood, it’s easy to see why we don’t always get to treasure time the way we should or spend it on the things that matter most.

That’s why this little boy decided he wanted to do something special for his mom so that she could make it to a very important event coming up for him. When he hands her the flyer for his “Tortoise and the Hare” play coming up, he immediately bows his head in disappointment as he realizes she’s too busy to make it. Between burnt buns in the oven, a crying baby and endless errands, there simply wasn’t enough time in the day.

She tossed the flyer back on the table after being interrupted by a phone call, and he knew it would never get picked back up again, unless he decided to do something about it.

That’s when he hopped up to do the dishes and continued to work on a list of chores while recording something in his journal in between each one.
