There’s hardly a power couple in the celebrity world quite like Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.
In an industry where the majority are doomed for divorce, Hill and McGraw have been going 21 years strong in their marriage, and it just keeps getting better.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the country music stars were asked how they keep the “fire burning,” and it seems a little simplicity and a lot of prayer have been the keys.
Hill remarked they have one unchanging tradition, particularly before going on stage that has been the glue in their marriage: “Always praying.”
Cultivating a relationship with God has always played a big part in them growing in relationship with one another.
And as far as simplicity goes, the place they chose to celebrate their 20-year anniversary says quite a bit about the couple’s values as well… Fiji? St. Thomas? Paris? Insert other-fancy-rich-place here:______ you might guess.
Nope. They chilled at home in their PJs and loved EVERY minute of it.
“Funny, as we get older it’s less about the big gestures and more about just spending the time together at home,” says McGraw. “For our 20th wedding anniversary, we stayed home, in our pajamas and watched TV,” he added. “We loved it.”
Beyond prayer and learning to appreciate the little things like a night in together, the two also seem to remain in awe of each other, which certainly helps keep their fire alive.
“Tim is the absolute best entertainer, hands down,” says Hill. “He can bring a crowd to their feet with the motion of his hand. He knows how to deliver songs to the fans and make them feel like he’s singing to them.”
But McGraw begs to differ, calling his wife the entertainer that forces him to raise his game every single time he steps on stage.
“She’s such a powerhouse that it forces me to raise my game every night,” he shared.
Needless to say, these two country lovebirds are basically ultimate #RelationshipGoals, and it’s so amazing to see how they use their public platforms to openly project the power of God and prayer.
Wishing them a happy 21st and many many more to come!
