Meet Joey, the 16-month-old bear-hugging machine with an infectious smile and a passionate love for life.
Her mama followed closely behind taping her as she ran around the grocery store waving, smiling and hugging anyone who would give her the time of day. Grinning from ear to ear, with a pacifier in her mouth and a spring in her wobbly step, she let no stranger go unnoticed.
Joey spreads bubbly cheer where ever she goes, and it’s so beautiful to watch the pure-hearted love of a child light up the spirit of adults. Kids are so good at reminding us that one of the greatest gifts Jesus ever gave us was that of joy—and it’s contagious.
Watch the touching video that has warmed the hearts of millions. I think mine just grew three sizes.
Comments and stories have flooded in over the precious tot who taught us how to love a little bit better:
One thing we know for certain is that Jesus loved kids. The more I spend time with them, I start to think He loved them for the benefits He got by being around them rather than the responsibility of raising them.
Kids get it. They’re quick to forgive, quick to trust, quick to believe in miracles and love all kinds of people.
Just watch this other little girl explode in thanksgiving and praise after Jesus healed her.
As stated by Patrick Rothfuss,“When we are children, we seldom think of the future. This innocence leaves us free to enjoy ourselves as few adults can. The day we fret about the future is the day we leave our childhood behind.”
Let us not overlook our little role models who set the gold standard for loving well, living in the moment, laughing freely and trusting God without fear of the future.
