Friend Says “Of All People, You Should Get Why Someone Would Abort a Cleft Baby”—Dad’s Reply Is Perfect

"My ‘friend’ said, ‘Come on, of all people, you should get why someone would want to abort a cleft baby.’ That shocked me. Why would he think that?"

7. Overusing Father-God in Prayer

8. “Ask Jesus into Your Heart”

This overused phrase can be a bit confusing. What we really mean is, “Do you want to repent and believe in Jesus?” If we use this phrase, we need to make sure and explain it–especially to kids.

 9. “After all, It Was Adam and Eve, Not Adam and Steve”

It’s true, but probably not the most compassionate or intelligent way to share your convictions on the importance of biblical marriage.

10. “The Lord Never Gives You More Than You Can Handle”

This is a cliche–and it’s just wrong. God gives us more than we can handle all the time. ALL. THE. TIME. That’s how he grows our faith. The passage we often get confused about is 1 Corinthians 10 — and it’s referring to temptation, not trials or life’s circumstances.
