Zendaya’s parents have done a great job raising her, and Zendaya shouldn’t really need to defend her parents, should she?
19-year-old Zendaya took home the award for the Favorite Female TV Star at the Kid’s Choice Awards. Though many have wondered why she hasn’t moved past Disney at this point in her career, the teen made it clear in her acceptance speech that it is incredibly important to her to keep making positive children’s programming.
There simply aren’t enough positive role models on TV for kids, and it’s something she’s very passionate about.
Zendaya elaborated on Ellen about the support system behind her success: her parents. They have been there for her from day one and have molded her into the fine young woman that she is today, which is one of the reasons why she still lives at home with them.
Though many teens go through that awkward and often regretful I’m-too-cool-for-my-parents stage, Zendaya is simply not one of those girls. In fact, she openly shared the perks of living with her parents with Ellen, who got a good chuckle out of her and her mom’s unique “alarm clock system.”
But regardless of the advantages of having live-in alarm clocks and free rides, that’s not the only reason Zendaya is so in love with her amazing mom and dad, as she made clear a while back when bullies were publicly making fun of them.
There’s a newish trend called throwback Thursdays where people post pictures from the past and that’s exactly what recording artist Zendaya decided to do. The picture she posted was one from a few years ago on the red carpet during an event, take a look:

The other horrible thing is how many times that comment was shared and favorited. Not willing to let the comment slide Zendaya came up with her own response and it’s a pretty solid example of “kill them with kindness” with a little bit of sarcasm thrown in.
Not only does she have a beautiful family but it looks like her parents did a beautiful job raising such a beautiful daughter. Love those who hate you, pray for those who persecute you, when she calls the person beautiful I couldn’t help but feel like God was smiling.
Such an awesome way to bring love to a dark situation. Well done Zendaya! Thanks for continuing to be a positive role model for America’s youth!
