Heroin & Meth-Addicted Mom’s “Before & After” Pics After 4 Years Off Drugs Are Absolutely Inspiring

December is a month worth celebrating. For many, it means family and friends coming together to spread the love and reflect on the year. Others find ways to decorate the house, stack presents under the tree and celebrate the coming of Jesus!

For Dejah Hall, December is definitely worth celebrating—but four years ago, that couldn’t have been further from the truth.

“I was a monster. I was a monster in every sense of the word,” she said.

The then 22-year-old was addicted to meth, cocaine and heroin. Her life was completely out of control, and she was running from the law.

It was a visit with her grandpa that changed everything.

“My grandfather was sitting in his wheelchair and he looked at me he said, ‘You’re hurting me, Dejah,’” she remembered. “I went to the bathroom, and I looked at myself and I really looked at who I had become. This disgusting person who needed to continue to stick these drugs in their veins because I couldn’t function.”

She made a promise to her grandpa that she would get clean.

Hours later, federal agents arrested her for felony warrants.

Hall went to prison, and her journey toward sobriety began. She had made a promise to her grandfather, and when he died just two weeks later, it was that promise that kept her going.

Today, she is thriving. Hall posted this photo on her Facebook page in celebration of her achievements—a celebration of December. The post is quickly going viral.
