Student’s Response to Punishment Leaves Teacher Dumbstruck & the Internet Cheering

Kids say the darnedest things.

No one can relate to this age-old statement this week better than Mason Cross, whose daughter Ava just dropped the mic on her 6th grade teacher.

When asked to give feedback about what her teacher(s) could do better, the 11-year-old responded in the most honest way possible.

“Not use collective punishment as it is not fair on the many people who did nothing,” she wrote.

But Ava didn’t stop there. She laid the smackdown on her teacher with this little blurb:

“And under the 1949 Geneva Conventions, it is a war crime.”

You tell ‘em girl! Someone was paying attention this year.

Mason tweeted a photo of Ava’s response saying, “My daughter actually submitted this feedback at school. Not sure if I should ground her or buy her ice cream…”

The dad later wrote that Ava loves her teacher—it’s just the educational justice system she has an issue with.

His tweet quickly went viral with the Internet praising Ava for her boldness, honesty and wit!

“Future prosecutor at the International Criminal Court in the making,” one Twitter user commented. Another said, “Buy her ice cream for the full school year…”

Mason later shared a photo of Ava, double fisting a couple of ice cream cones, with the caption, “The people have spoken.”

All the praise for this smart young lady. Ava, you’ve made your dad, and the entire Internet community, proud.
