After further investigation, the final count landed at a horrifying 2,411. The unborn infants were kept inside sealed plastic bags with preservation chemicals. The bags were randomly scattered in the garage amidst other storage.
Last Wednesday, those precious lives were memorialized with a shared headstone in a mass burial service held by Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill.
“Today, we finally memorialize the 2,411 unborn babies whose remains were senselessly hoarded by Dr. Ulrich Klopfer after he performed the abortions from 2000 to 2003,” said Hill during the burial service. “These babies deserved better than a cold, dark garage or the trunk of a car.”
Hill said the babies were buried together to “[keep] them together in rest, each of them connected by their common fate.”
