Dad Booked 6 Flights to Spend Christmas With Flight Attendant Daughter

Many of us will be flying at Christmastime because we want to spend the holiday with family. But what happens when one of your family members is one of the crew members running all those flights? For one dad, it meant booking 6 flights so he could spend Christmas with flight attendant daughter.

Why One Dad Booked 6 Flights With Flight Attendant Daughter

Hal Vaughan of Ocean Springs, Mississippi is a doting dad. So much so that in 2018 he booked 6 flights with his flight attendant daughter. At the time, 25-year-old Pierce Vaughan was a rookie based in Detroit, Michigan with Delta Airlines; so she had to work over the Christmas holiday.

Being a rookie, the flight attendant had no choice but to spend Christmas on a layover scheduled for Hartford, Connecticut.

But that broke her dad’s heart to hear. “Thinking of her being in that hotel room all by herself on Christmas Day really bugged her mother and I,’ ‘Hal Vaughan told USA Today in an interview.

Being a parent of a Delta employee, Hal and his wife decided he would fly standby and join their daughter for several of her flights so she would be able to spend Christmas with family. Pierce’s mother, Kimberly, had to stay back to take care of their pets.

It was on one of these 6 flights the dad booked to spend with flight attendant daughter that Mike Levy met Hal and the story went viral.

Levy posted photos of Pierce and himself with Hal to Facebook and wrote, “I had the pleasure of sitting next to Hal on my flight back home. His daughter Pierce was our flight attendant who had to work over Christmas.”

Check out Mike Levy’s Facebook post, and the public’s response:

Levy was moved by Hal’s commitment to his daughter saying, “Hal decided he would spend the holiday with her. So, he is flying on each of her flights today and tomorrow around the country to spend time with his daughter for Christmas. What a fantastic father!”

Levy apparently also thought highly of Pierce, as he told reporters, “Pierce is very sweet. She definitely knows now how great her dad really is.”

And the internet ate it up! Since Levy posted the photos, more than 40,000 people have shared it on Facebook, and many people have commented.
One Facebook user said, “What an awesome father/daughter. Glad they could share the holiday.”
Another said, “What a good dad!”
Sheryl Robert said, “She is lucky she has family that loves her so much.”
Well, everyone seemed to love this gesture of love, but what did Pierce think?
