Dad Booked 6 Flights to Spend Christmas With Flight Attendant Daughter

How Did Pierce React to Her Dad’s Gesture?

Many might think it’s extreme for a father to book 6 flights to spend Christmas with flight attendant daughter, but for Pierce, this action wasn’t surprising.

Pierce’s mom and dad had made other exciting gestures before, such as when she was living in Australia and her parents took a 15-hour flight to spend Christmas there with her.

When asked how he thought his daughter would respond to the idea, Hal said, “I thought she’d be kind of indifferent to it, but she was so happy. She was just thrilled.”

And apparently the whole thing started with a flight Pierce and her dad took together on her day off from New Orleans to Detroit.

According to Pierce, this trip was extra special for her and her dad, as he’d recently had a bad accident where he fell off a ladder and broke his neck. Although he had the go-ahead from his doctor, this trip was the first he’d taken since the accident. And what a one to take—6 flights with flight attendant daughter!

As Levy explained it, “[Hal] is still recovering from a neck injury from earlier in the year, which had left him quadriplegic for a period. This was his first trip since the accident.”

Apparently, the trip was a success because Pierce later shared Levy’s post saying, “Dad’s first trip using his benefits was a success! A special thanks to all of the patient, wonderful gate agents around the country and my perfect crew. He made it on every flight and even got first class RSW-DTW (Christmas miracle).”

After the post went viral, Delta was asked what they thought about the dad who booked 6 flights with flight attendant daughter, and they said, “We appreciate all of our employees for working during the holidays to serve Delta customers, and love seeing this awesome Dad having the chance to spend Christmas with his daughter — even while crisscrossing the country at 30,000 feet,” it said.
