Others Tragically Freeze to Death in Incidents That Could Have Been Prevented
In Cleveland Heights, Ohio another elderly individual froze to death after being stuck outside her assisted living facility. This time, a 72-year-old woman who was living at Forest Hills Place in Ohio, was found dead just after 8am on a Monday, December 26, 2022.
Again, the freezing temperatures were the cause of death when the woman was unable to get back into her assisted living facility.
With the frigid temperatures, this hasn’t only been an issue with assisted living facilities. In Detroit, Michigan, a 35-year-old woman who was having a mental health crisis, was wandering through the streets of Pontiac, Michigan with her three children.
After seeking help by knocking on doors, the family went into a field, and she had the kids lay down in the field with her. Reports say she believed someone was after her due to her mental health crisis, and she, along with her two young sons died. Her 10-year-old daughter, however, eventually got up and found help.
While the mother had called emergency services for help in the midst of her mental health crisis, she did not get the care she needed.
