“Please Pray With Me”: Chris Pratt Pleads Fans for Prayer After Director Nearly Dies of ‘Widow-Maker’ Heart Attack

Chris Pratt will be the first to admit that he’s not a perfect Christian. Like all of us, the actor has made his fair share of missteps and has room for personal growth, so many have been quick to slam him for hypocrisy.

But the outspoken Jesus follower has never let that stop him from using his celeb platform to share his faith and make public pleas for prayer.

After his prematurely-born son, Jack was saved by the power of prayer, Pratt has taken every opportunity he can to ignite prayer chains for others via social media.

For instance, when he found out 4-year-old fan Spencer Hodnett was suffering from brain cancer, he posted a tweet to fans that read “would love a RT asking followers to say a prayer for a 4 yr old fan. Psalm 107:28-30; MT 21:21.”

Surprisingly, his humble request was met with severe criticism by people who suggest he put his faith in doctors and science instead:

However, the backlash has yet to deter Pratt from believing in the power of prayer and boldly asking others to join him.

On Sunday, he tweeted a prayer request for director/actor Kevin Smith who nearly died from a massive heart attack.

“After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack,” Smith shared on Twiter. “The doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka ‘the Widow-Maker’). If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground!”

After reading the alarming news, Pratt retweeted the message and replied saying, “Kevin we don’t know each other too good but I have loved you since Clerks and I’m praying my a** off for you cause I believe in the healing power of prayer. Can you please pray with me people!?”

Though his delivery may be somewhat irreverent, it’s Pratt’s down-to-earth style that has attracted many fans to join his efforts in making Kingdom impact.

“Praying for you,” he wrote in a separate message. “I will continue to. You inspired me with Clerks when I was a senior HS.”

Please SHARE Pratt’s prayer request with your friends, and join us in praying for Smith’s full recovery!
