I’ve known Jesus my entire life. But never have I grasped the true hope that is found in Him, until this past year when death swept through my family like a raging storm of never-ending pain. In that pain, I turned to God’s Word and looked for Bible verses for the death of a loved one.
You see, death is inevitable. We know that every person who lives is going to die. Even having that forewarning in our hearts, it doesn’t make the passing of a loved one any easier.
But God.
When my mother-in-law took her life this past fall, I truly started questioning, “HOW do people do this (grief) without Jesus?” Without hope, and truth, and peace and strength that surpasses all understanding.
Because no one understood death better than Jesus. He came, lived a perfect life and DIED a horrific death to save us from our sins.
So when death comes knocking, and wipes your world void of what once was, turn to the Prince of Peace, who reigns victorious. In Christ, death has no sting.

3. John 14:1-3
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
