As the class of 2024 graduates and the school year comes to a close, there’s a new trend happening on social media that has all of us sentimentals feeling unwell over how fast time flies.

Boss Accidentally Turns Herself into a Potato for Video Meeting & Can’t Figure Out How to Change It Back

With news in recent weeks inundated with disheartening messages, we all need a little light-hearted humor to cheer us up.

Well, one boss lady who just went viral on Twitter sure did the job with a video meeting faux pas that has the Internet keeling over in laughter.

Lizet Ocampo, the political director for the American Way, is one of the many Americans working from home during the pandemic. As a result, Ocampo and her team are using video calls to connect.

That’s where the hilarity begins.

As a part of her job working with ‘Latinx voters’, Ocampo joins a virtual happy hour with other leaders in the community as a fun way to stay in contact and connect with peers.

Prior to the meeting, the political director forgot that she had just downloaded some funny filters.

“So Monday morning, we had our meeting and I usually try to do a camera, and when we started the meeting, I saw myself as a potato,” said Ocampo.”I was so confused as to why I was a potato,” she added. “Of all the things I could be, why a potato?”

She made the connection that it was because of her downloading the filters, but the problem was that she also could not figure out how to change back into a human from the spud she was.

In the meantime, her colleagues couldn’t help but roar in laughter over the entertaining mishap.

“As a progressive organization, we fight for justice for all and access to opportunities, and in the last three-plus years, it’s been a little tough,” said Ocampo.

“I just kind of gave up and stayed as a potato for the rest of the call.”

In the meantime, the potato lady had no idea that her co-worker Rachelle had tweeted a screenshot of the whole ordeal.

To Rachele’s surprise, the tweet quickly went viral, soaring to nearly a million likes.

Both amused and a little nervous to tell Ocampo the news, Rachele texted her the next morning.

“Are you awake right now?” she wrote. “I have something hilarious to tell you and I hope you think it’s as funny as I do because I’m also scared. I tweeted about you as a potato today and it’s VIRAL.”

Thankfully, Ocampo got a kick out of it and even tweeted back with some goofy potato puns herself.

She was glad to provide some comic relief to people’s lives amidst the crazy times we’re living in.

“I hope folks are really taking seriously to be safe and stay planted,” she added.
