Most dads will do anything for their little girls. Even the toughest of tough-guys don’t stand a chance against the little girl that lights up their world.
Sadie Collins witnessed that first-hand this week, during her shift at the local Goodwill in Southern Indiana. She took to Facebook to share the father-daughter experience that changed her whole day.
“SO, this guy comes into Goodwill today, he’s a big dude. He has tattoos on his neck and arm and even a skull tattoo the size of my entire hand on the back of his head. His name tag says “Punisher” everything about him screams burliness and manliness yet, here he is, at Goodwill with a baby doll strapped safely in the cart as he shops for clothing for him.”
Curious, Sadie says that she asked him about the doll.

“He told me it was his daughters baby doll named Davey…she wanted him to have clothes and socks, so he got in his car, and drove here and bought Davey two onesies and then went to Walmart and bought him some socks as well.”
Sadie was completely blown away by how well the man treated his little girl’s baby doll. She was at school and had trusted her daddy with a special job, and there’s no doubt that he thoroughly delivered.
“I can only imagine how well his daughter is cared for if he’s willing to care for her toys this well.”
There is no perfect way to parent. In a world where social media often puts our lives on display and allows others to judge our parenting choices, Sadie wants others to see the beauty in what she got to experience: straight-up good parenting.
“I just think amazing parenting like this deserves recognition. This man sucked up all of his pride and went out of his way to clothing shop for a baby doll just to make his little girl happy and if that’s not love I don’t know what is.”
Too many little girls don’t grow up with the luxury of having a strong and stable male role model in their lives. It’s beautiful to see a man going out of his way to care for his daughter, and show her the love and respect that she deserves—even if it’s just with her baby doll.
