Who Are the Deceased?
The California inmate killed 2 child molesters named Graham De Luis-Conti and David Bobb. While Bobb died the day at the age of 48, De Luis-Conti died three days later at the age of 62. He had been taken to a hospital after the beating but did not survive. Both Bob and De Luis-Conti had been serving life sentences.
Although Watson’s letter caused his story to gain traction in the news, the deathly beatings were not the first in California. Another California Inmate, Rodney DeLong was also killed in prison, and in a federal lawsuit, his family claims DeLong’s death was also the result of a dangerous prisoner “mistakenly” being put with other prisoners.
Pedophiles are often the victims of these types of crimes, according to ABC News writer, Michael S. James.
“Prison can be a menacing place for child molesters,” wrote James, “like the former Roman Catholic priest John Geoghan, who was killed in his cell.”
A spokeswoman for California Department of Corrections, Margot Bach told James, “Taking [a pedophile] out would gain [the killer] a lot more respect among the other inmates.”
So has Watson gained the respect of other inmates? Those inside the prison know.
