Friend Says “Of All People, You Should Get Why Someone Would Abort a Cleft Baby”—Dad’s Reply Is Perfect

"My ‘friend’ said, ‘Come on, of all people, you should get why someone would want to abort a cleft baby.’ That shocked me. Why would he think that?"

Rapper Cardi B Shamed for Not Having an Abortion After Revealing Baby Bump. Her Response Sends a Powerful Message to Women.

While certainly not a conservative, rising rap sensation Cardi B still sent a powerful message on behalf of the pro-life community this week.

It was a big week for the rapper, after dropping her first studio album “Invasion of Privacy” and announcing her pregnancy with a baby-bump reveal during “Saturday Night Live.”

Cardi B admitted that said it was a “relief” to get the news out in the open but also “nerve-wracking” because, in spite of her tough-girl exterior, she is “sensitive” to what people say.

As anticipated, her news was met with some pretty harsh criticism.

She claims she was even shamed and ridiculed for not getting an abortion, as having a baby at the start of her booming career would certainly ruin it. Seeing as the 25-year-old’s rapid rise to fame just started last year, Cardi B understands that this is a critical time to keep the momentum going, but she refuses to believe that she can’t be a mother and a career woman.

In an interview with “The Breakfast Club,” host Charlemagne Tha God asked Cardi B if getting an abortion ever crossed her mind.

While initially plagued with fear by the unplanned pregnancy with fiancé and fellow rapper Offset, the expecting mom conveyed that it was just not something she could stand for, as the regret would be too much to bear. She simply couldn’t stand to live with the guilt of taking a life.

“Yeah, no, I just didn’t want to,” she replied. “And it’s just like, you know what? I’m a grown woman, I’m 25-years-old, I’m going to share this in the most humblest way, I’m a [millionaire]… I’m prepared for this.”

“I started winning when the whole word was doubting on me!” she later tweeted. “Think imma lose with my little baby counting on me?”

The Bronx-born music sensation continued that the backlash she’s getting from women truly disgusts her.

“It really bothers me and it disgusts me because I see a lot of women online like, ‘Oh, I feel sorry for you. Oh your career is over,’” she shared. “And it’s just like, why can’t I have both? Like as a woman, why can’t I have both? Why do I have to choose a career or a baby? Like, why can’t I have both? It’s like, why do I have to wait until I’m 30-something to have a kid? I want my kid now.”

In a follow-up interview on Monday, the rapper made similar comments regarding her stance on keeping her baby.
