It’s rare to be driving down the street with your family and just come across something that compels you to stop and get out of your car.
Sure, something catastrophic like a house fire or a car accident might do the trick. But that wasn’t the case for Chris Carter.
As his wife, Tara, explains on Facebook, “this is one of the many reasons” she loves her husband:
“As we are driving home with Kylie and Gage, Chris suddenly turns the jeep around and says ‘Take the food home and come back and get me.’”
Unsure of what her husband had discovered, Tara trusted his judgement and simply said, “okay.”
That’s when something truly beautiful happens:
“We pull up and Chris takes the push mower from this elderly gentleman.”
He took over and finished the man’s yard work for him!
“I pray that my son learns from this and randomly helps people do things like his father does.”
His actions were so simple, yet they don’t happen enough.
Thank goodness for people like Chris who still value the principle of respecting our elders. And all the praise to this dad for going out of his way to do something nice for a stranger.
May it inspire us all to be kind to one another today!
