Millions watch “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” every weeknight. From current events to silly competitions, it’s all incredible entertainment right before bed. But, one night Fallon just wasn’t himself. In fact, Jimmy Fallon canceled the show.
His Quick Wit Was Missing When Jimmy Fallon Canceled the Show Due to a Family Emergency
The face of late night television and the funny-man that keeps millions of people up past their bedtime every night, Jimmy Fallon, stunned the crowd one night.
Jimmy Fallon is known for making others laugh, but this week is an exception as the late-night host has taken a leave of absence to mourn the death of his beloved mother, Gloria Fallon.

Fallon announced that he was canceling the show on Friday and all of the tapings scheduled the following week, as he takes time to grieve.
“Today I lost my biggest fan,” Fallon wrote in a statement on Saturday.

Gloria has affectionately been referenced by the comedian during his gig hosting the Tonight Show, whether it be in interviews with guests who fell in love with one of her homemade dishes, or Tweets that Fallon used in his popular “Mom Quotes” segment.
She was also seen with Jimmy’s father, James Fallon Sr., at their son’s first-ever taping of the Tonight Show back in 2014.
Jimmy has always been open about how close he was with his mother. It’s no surprise that he was at her bedside surrounded by other loved ones when she passed away on November 4th. Gloria was 68 years old.
Fellow late night hosts and celebrity friends have taken to social media, extending their condolences to Jimmy and his family.

Jimmy’s mom was full of energy, fun, a hearty laugh & twinkle in her eye. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Love to all the Fallons

Our prayers are with Jimmy and anyone who has lost a mother.
Honoring Your Mom’s Legacy
There’s nothing quite like a mom. God somehow combined the patience of Job, the creativity of Mary Poppins, the humor of Carol Burnett, and the love of Jesus—all in one beautiful woman.

When your mom has already passed on, you can still honor her memory and her legacy through what you do each and every day. Think of the lives you touch with her witty phrases or the creative solutions you stole from her ingenuity.
Thank God for your mom—who she was and who you are because of her.
