Mom Rents Redbox Movie After Exhausting Week—Inside the Case, She Finds a Stranger’s Letter

When Friday afternoon rolls around, most people have only one thing on the brain—it’s time to relax. After a long week of work, chauffeuring the kids around to what seems like a million different activities, and trying to keep your head from spinning, what could be better than picking up a pizza and grabbing that new movie you’ve been wanting to see?

Opening it up to find $100 inside…that could be better.

A woman in San Antonio, Texas, thought she was renting the newest Mark Wahlberg movie last weekend. When she got home and opened it, she found five $20 bills folded inside, along with a note from a stranger.

The note read:

Hello!

My name is Marcos. Every month I take $100.00 that I would normally spend on myself and give it away to a stranger. This month I decided to change it up and put it in a Redbox DVD. You are the first giveaway of 2017! I just ask that you put the money to good use. If you don’t need it, give it away. If you need it, keep it.

Have a great day!

-Marcos

The woman’s daughter, Elizabeth Robledo, shared the whole thing on Twitter, saying:

“My mom was just hoping to relax and enjoy a movie, but instead God blessed her with more. Marcos whoever you are, God bless you.“

Since sharing the story, Elizabeth’s tweet has gone viral. She and Marcos have connected on social media as well.

Just another sweet reminder that there really are so many good people in this world. It’s small acts like this that restore our faith in humanity. 💛
