Apparently they shared about all kinds of things from their lives, such as their children and how Eric is involved at his church. They even exchanged phone numbers, and were in touch later. They may have even shared a meal again!

Al the time, Amanda and her coworkers didn’t know who the young man was, but after posting the photo, it was circulated so much that it eventually came out that Eric Haralson was the man eats a meal with an elderly stranger, that everyone was talking about.

Amanda was touched by how much people loved her post, and how this man eats a meal with an elderly stranger inspired others around the world to kindness. In another post, Amanda said, “I happened to snap a picture, and then shared it. What an amazing outpouring of love, kindness, and overwhelming encouragement! Out post has made it across the world!”

Amanda identified many of the places where people lived that they were sharing this man eats a meal with an elderly stranger with, such as New York, California, Texas, Hungary, and Switzerland. It’s been three years since the photo went viral; so know knows where else the photo is being seen.

Amanda shared that she “was contacted by numerous people in private telling me how much they loved the story, and they thanked me for sharing!”

She encouraged others to share moments like this by posting it on Facebook as well as being that man eats a meal with an elderly stranger, by showing to kindness throughout their own lives.

Eric, too, was touched by positive attention he was receiving for simply welcoming that woman. In a Facebook post he said, “Shout out to everyone who has showed love. I definitely appreciate it!!! It is a humbling experience. Everyone who knows me know that this is just the type of person I am. But I truly truly appreciate the love!”
