Lucas’ uncle set up a GoFundMe page, and the response was almost immediate. Although the family was only asking for $40,000 to help them with both the loss of their home and belongings and their medical bills, within weeks, the GoFundMe page had raised up to $286,000. Another donator said, “I am so humbled and amazed by this man’s incredible act of courage and his victorious rescue of his precious little baby girls! What a miracle! Praise be to God and may this small contribution bless your family as you heal and reflect on this awe-inspiring testimony!”

The family was moved by all the help and support they received. The girls’ mother posted to Facebook, a note of gratitude.
