It “Cost Him His Life”—Mom Shares Viral Plea to Parents From Son’s Hospital Bed

One Calgary mother’s plea is spreading a viral message this week about the dangers and heartbreak associated with the present-day opioid crisis.

Sherri Kent posted a photo to Facebook of herself lying in a hospital bed next to her 22-year-old son, Michael. He was dying, and there was nothing she could do to save him.

Along with the brutal photo she writes:

“My son was not an addict, he made a mistake that cost him his life.”

Sherri explains that Michael overdosed on fentanyl, a narcotic that is used to treat severe pain.
